Mydrax® 1%-(Tropicamide)

Sterile Eye Drops


Mydrax® is a sterile topical solution for ophthalmic use. Each 100 mL contains: 1g Tropicamide as active ingredient. This product is a preservative free product.

Clinical Pharmacology:

Tropicamide is an anticholinergic agent that blocks the responses of the sphincter muscle of the iris and the accommodative ciliary muscle of the ciliary body to cholinergic stimulation producing papillary dilation (mydriasis) and paralysis of accommodation

 The 1% solution produces paralysis of accommodation (cyclopelgia) as well as mydriasis.


Mydrax ® 1% is used as a mydriatic and/or cycloplegic drug in diagonistic procedure such as measurement of refractive errors and examination of the fundus of the eye.

Dosage and Administration:


Refraction: apply one or two drops of 1% solution in the eye(s), repeated in five minutes. If mydriasis or patient is not seen within 20 to 30 minutes, an additional drop may be instilled to prolong mydriatic effect.


Examination of fundus: apply one or two drops of 1% solution 15 to 20 minutes prior to examination. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Individuals with heavily pigmented irises may require large doses.

How Supplied:

Sina Darou Mydrax® Single Use Sterile Eye Drops are available as 0.5 mL of 1% tropicamide sterile solutions in 0.6mL sterile polyethylene vials.

50 vials are packed in carton boxes along with brochure.


 Store below 30°C. Protect from freezing. Keep container tightly closed. This product is preservative free so discard the opened container immediately after use. Keep out of reach of children.
